Faster and better computer processors, operating systems and programming languages have enabled SURPAC to grow into a comprehensive suite of applications, covering virtually all fields of survey computations and draughting.Ĭurrently, SURPAC runs under the Microsoft Windows 7, Microsoft Windows 8 and Microsoft Windows 10 operating systems. Over the past 40 years, SURPAC Software has been continually expanded and improved. At that stage, the entire SURPAC software suite was installed onto a 5″ floppy disk and ran on non-graphic, desk top computers using first generation, 8 bit processors. To this end, SURPAC Software was first commercially marketed in 1982.
By the early 1980’s, It become obvious that, in South Africa in particular, Surveyors had a need for desk top computing facilities to enable them keep up with the ever growing world of electronic devices.
